Congratulations to North Country Hospital - The only hospital in Vermont to attain 100% on CMS Quality Measures!

On May 21, 2008 CMS purchased a full page ad in every state in the US. The Vermont ad that was published in the Burlington Free Press featured a list of Vermont hospitals that report on two measures available on Hospital Compare website. These include:

• percentage of patients that received an antibiotic one hour before surgery; and
• percentage of patients who always received help when they requested it. (The actual HCAHPS question is: During this hospital stay, after you pressed the call button, how often did you get help as soon as you wanted it?)

Below you will find the rates for all hospitals as the currently appear on Hospital Compare as well as statewide and national averages. The Surgical Care data is from discharges from July 2006 to June 2007. The HCAHPS data is for stays between October 2006 and June 2007.
