2008 Diabetes Walkathon
For North Country Hospital
October 5, 2008

We are actively tackling the daunting task of educating those in our community about diabetes - how to prevent it as well as how to live with it. And, the disease itself often leads patients down a path towards the need to receive dialysis treatments. Diabetes has reached epidemic levels in the Northeast Kingdom, and one third of people with diabetes don't even know they have the disease.
So, we're taking the next step…helping people to live healthier lives and make better choices through programs such as Dining with Diabetes and Take Control.
We are looking to you to participate. Form a team, walk on your own, raise pledges, make a contribution yourself, to help with outreach in our community! Free pedometer and t-shirt for all walkers! Prizes for team with most miles, team who raises most dollars, individual who raises most dollars, best team name, best team outfit (Yellow Brick Road/Wizard of Oz theme). For more information call the hospital's development office, 334-4186.
