Last Spring this community experienced a dream come true….the opening of The Ron Holland MD Community Dialysis Center at North Country Hospital. Thanks to the generosity, dedication, and hard work of hundreds of donors and volunteers for more than three years, over $1.5 million was raised and we now have an active center serving dialysis patients.

As a follow-up to that amazing project, we are now actively tackling the daunting task of educating those in our community about diabetes - how to prevent it as well as how to live with it. And, the disease itself often leads patients down a path towards the need to receive dialysis treatments. Diabetes has reached epidemic levels in the Northeast Kingdom, and one third of people with diabetes don't even know they have the disease.
So, we're taking the next step…helping people to live healthier lives and make better choices through programs such as Dining with Diabetes and Take Control.
